ARSENAL BY DESIGN | The story of the Bruised Banana 🍌

This shirt is really growing on me. The accents and colors really compliment each other

Yellow was gonna be insane… I know you've made one Gooner and showed us the rejected list. I won't tell.

Growing up in Zimbabwe my brother sent me the bruised banana I can't remember what year. Maybe 1992? With JVC on it and I have been a Gooner ever since.

We weren’t the only team Adiddas made the bruised banana pattern for, I don’t know why they act like it was made for Arsenal. Marketing BS

The only thing better and more enduring than the Bruised Banana is Wrighty’s love for Rocky

I just ordered an away jersey from The Arsenal App.

Such a shame you've got that genocidal sleeve sponsor. Won't be buying it

Hearing adidas say the past should not stay in the past tickled me 😂 but COYG ❤

Thanks for immediately making this kit about race. My f*cking god. You wonder why England is an absolute mess right now. This kit is iconic because of everyone who wore it at the time, not because of black players.

Racism is never going away if people can’t stop inserting it into every f*cking conversation, especially when completely unnecessary.

yellow shirt, blue shorts is the away kit for me. I’m old school. How they’re designed doesn’t really matter.

Adidas with fancy crap talk bruised banana bruised banana it's nothing like 1990s bb .it's just a copy of Roma 2019 blue yellow. All Nike Adidas do now is copy each other's past designs

Another great shirt by Adidas for Arsenal. I imagine it’s going to become another firm favourite in the stands, even at home games.

Enjoyed the video, but no explanation of why the design is known as bruised banana, and no acknowledgement of the original designer. I’m not tooo sure really that back then they were thinking too much about making the design reflective of British culture at the time, or the emotions of the fans.

It has definitely become an iconic pattern that has become a big part of Arsenal heritage, and I’m pleased that the club and Adidas are continuing to use it, albeit in an away shirt.

Here’s to a successful season for both teams COYG

This kit looks wicked. defo getting it. Hate what adidas did with their stripes… I don't like the thicker stripes on the home kit

It was terrible then. Still terrible today.

Not even close to the impact of the original. New one is nice but very mild in comparison…there is actually no comparison.

The kit when shown on display has both badges embroidered, I don’t recall seeing any like that before today

I’m wearing the 2019 reissue today walking down the road I hear someone shouting you can’t win the champion’s league. I just waved I note especially as to where I live it will be a hammer, who thrive in winning the flower pot a few years ago

I remember arsenal wearing the yellow shorts too with kit before that they used the home shorts
