I was as critical of Arteta as just about anyone⊠but letâs be real, we couldnât have set up against PSG any other way in that UCL final. We clearly didnât have the attacking quality that they had, so if we tried to turn the game into a basketball match we were destined to lose
What most of these Arsenal fans don't get is that Arteta knows that we have a huge problem in attack. He is not a mug. His plan this season was to elevate the performance and standards of our attack. That was why he let both Martinelli and Trossard go. He truly thought we would get Vinnie, Rogers and Alvarez. Arsenal's failure to secure any of those signings is one of the major reasons our attack is still playing similar to last season. Harvertz is average. Gyokeres is average. Madueke is average. Saka and Eze are not pulling their weight. Arteta is trying as much as he can to make do with what we have. He needs to trust Dowman to start him and we'd need to start scoring from set pieces to get to January
We all agree that our team is not entertaining but you cannot complain like we are average or we are like Man utd or Spurs…we need to give Arteta credit because he knows how to get results…

Just because we're winning doesn't mean there's not problems, ignoring it is what'll make our team like Man Utd & Spurs. Are we happy we're winning? Yes of course. Are we playing well? it's actually simple we don't have a good attackers to win the champion's league Barcelona don't have the defense it's all about the balance and that why PSG are the best right now…arteta or flick are not responsible because it's their style barça with a better defenders have a serious chance even with the high line and arsenal with a better attackers have a serious chance as well even with the pragmatic style…but people keep fighting each other about arteta in or out.

What are these lot talking about? We don't play low block against good teams and haven't had in a while.
If it were not due to injuries in our core side (Saka, Rice, Saliba, Havertz, Timber) all playing on crutches basically we would have played them the same way we have played all big teams for the previous two season, front footed.
These are just Anti-Arteta guys coming up with narratives to use to beat him with a stick. All big games since 2024 we've sought to be dominant (City(multiple times), Bayern(x2), Madrid(x2), Psg(x3), atletico(x2)….. etc etc. One game in which we had really little to no option but to stay compact and defend doesn't change how we approached majority of the other big games.
