She really hunkered down and dove headfirst into her role 2:30 Oscar worthy. You have to admire the technique. I think that tree deserves a round of applause as well. It deserves its own IMDb page for best supporting cast role. So long as it stays on the straight and narrow, doesn't crack under pressure, I see more roles in its future.

It's not a horror movie unless someone trips over their own feet and falls in the woods.
It's unfortunate the producers saw fit to turn Mother Leeds into a "welfare queen." In traditional lore she is neither "the town whore," nor does she "rely on the community to feed, clothe and educate her children." In the original stories, she is a well-respected, married woman who curses god and the unborn child due to her 13th (in some stories, 9th) pregnancy being painful and difficult (she also is usually depicted as stating she wanted no more children, prior to learning she was again pregnant). If you are familiar with the legend, it just sorts of jumps out and slaps you in the face that they made what would have been a "god-fearing" and very conservative woman into this stereotypical conservative talking-point.
I watch a lot of movies and this is like the Full Meal Deal. I don't get the comments. It's a horror movie. Are some of you in the 3rd grade? BTW, if you left during the credits, you super suck!!

The Canadian terrain being nothing at all like the actually creepy Pine Barrens, definitely diminishes it for people who know those woods.

I lived in Whiting New Jersey for 17 years – Pine Barrens & in the beginning of the movie as they're driving to where they're going camping the dad says there are no BEARS
